                                              MICHELE WOODRUFF

After graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. in Fine and Applied Arts, I worked as a Textile Designer in Manhattan for over a decade to pay the rent.  During that time, I designed many fabrics for U.S. and European textile companies including Cone Mills, Milliken & Co. and Cotton, Inc.
After leaving Manhattan, I began revisiting the fine arts, studying under various talented teachers and master painters.
Presently, I have been painting for 40+ years, with the ocean and landscape being my favorite subjects.   Throughout the years I have been influenced by different mediums and styles, and the past 15 years have been painting solely in oil, however I feel comfortable in watercolor, acrylic and pastel as well.

I keep classes small  (6 people max) to allow plenty of one on one instruction when needed.  Most classes focus on a subject with a lecture and demo intro, and a class critique at the end.  The classes are very relaxed and supportive as we are all on different levels of our artistic journey.  Occasionally I will have Open Workshop sessions for painters to use the skills they have learned.

I work with all levels of artists, and still love the absolute beginner....because we all had to start somewhere!  It is my privilege to be part of your journey.
